Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager leads the Prism Movement Theater people strategy and is a recognized champion of the staff within the organization. Aligned with our business strategy, our people strategy centers around our talented workforce; establishing and delivering competitive compensation, leading succession planning and strategic recruitment, shepherding talent development and performance management and serving as advisor and advocate to employees and management. The Human Resources Manager works closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to develop and support a culture of creativity and collaboration which supports staff in achieving high performance standards.

Job Type: Part-time contractor.

Location: Dallas, TX. Can work remotely. 

 

Rate: $20/hr

Hours: Seasonal, with more hours available during Spring and Fall and fewer during Summer and Winter. Estimated 5-10 hours per week during busy season.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

Establish, execute and promote HR initiatives that effectively support Prism’s mission, vision, values, and business objectives.

Champion equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) through leadership involvement, education and programs/processes.

Organizational Development

Facilitate succession planning, and talent review.

 

Develop transparent employment pathways that promote professional career growth opportunities 

Provide internal HR coaching and consulting to the organization.

Facilitate key meetings and workshops as it relates to HR policies, protocols, and culture at the beginning of every production. 

Total Rewards

Continually assess the competitiveness of all compensation and benefits programs and practices against relevant and comparable companies, industries, and markets.

Legal Compliance

Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, nonprofit trends, current best practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources management.

Work with the Executive Team to review company policies. Write and develop policies as required.

Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant local, state and federal laws.

Support the HR/Payroll Coordinator with payroll processing and reporting compliance. 

Administration

Manage areas such as onboarding, employee communication and engagement, employee safety and health, and community relations for every production. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Success as a progressive HR generalist; including talent management, talent acquisition, total rewards and employee relations; supervisory experience preferred.

HR certification, certificate or equivalent preferred

Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility; with the ability and commitment to work with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class and immigrant status.

Solid knowledge of HR policies, people programs, and employment laws and regulations.

Excellent personal leadership and change management skills.

Demonstrated emotional intelligence and strength in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company

Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication

 

Marketing Director

The Marketing Manager is the primary lead for developing, implementing and monitoring the Theater’s marketing and public relations strategies, plans and budgets to meet or exceed objectives for ticket sales, advertising revenues, registrations, individual donations and other earned and contributed income sources. The Marketing Manager also provides support for fundraising and sponsor/donor initiatives of the theater.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Producers and Artistic Director, develop and implement the annual marketing plan, promotional and outreach strategies along with the associated budgets, in order to support the Theatres overall business strategy for increased sales and other earned revenues.

In collaboration with the Producers and Artistic Director, develop and implement sales, marketing, advertising and publicity plans and tactics in all medium (including broadcast, print, digital/interactive and social media) to achieve continued growth for single ticket sales, while maximizing the organization’s overall profile.

Manage production and distribution of all marketing material, including brochures, flyers and associated collateral along with digital marketing, promotion and content.

Manage the company’s social media profiles and social media outreach. 

Lead strategic marketing partnership and sponsorship operations.

Develop, implement and manage fundraising strategies to expand, and retain individual donations, annual fundraising, and special events.

Prepare proposals and offers to develop new partnership/sponsorship opportunities with the business community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience, preferably in the performing arts and non-profit sphere

In-depth knowledge of the multi-disciplinary performing arts sector.

Good track record in executing/supervising successful marketing campaigns and public relations activities.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Experience in a revenue generating position, preferably generating ticket sales and earned income.

In-depth knowledge of print and electronic media, especially social media platforms. .

Hiring Policy

Following the practices of a traditional theater company, Prism Movement Theater hires new talent through three different methods: auditions, hiring campaigns, and interviews. 

For performers, we typically offer roles through a general audition process depending on the needs of our upcoming productions.

For backstage crew and designers, we typically offer positions through hiring campaigns and interviews depending on the needs of our upcoming productions.

For administrative personnel and teaching artists we hold hiring campaigns and interviews.
